Greensand Ridge is an award-winning, carbon neutral distillery specialising in Gin, Rums and Fruit Brandies, making spirits with provenance, using sustainable practices and turning surplus produce from local growers into world-class spirits which reflect the lands surrounding the distillery.

The founder and distiller, Will, is a lifelong hobbyist brewer, cidermaker and experimenter-with-booze. Undertaking a Masters degree in Brewing and Distilling in 2012 he set about building a distillery which would lead the way in spirits sustainability. Will processes raw materials from local growers and food producers to make fine spirits.

Having met Will at a number of trade shows we were immediately captivated by the story and Will’s dedication in creating environmentally friendly distilled spirits.  We also loved his attitude towards experimentation and creating spirits that echo the flavours and aromas of the lands around the distillery.

The vision from the start has been to build a different kind of distillery; one which has the lightest possible touch on the lands, but also benefits the community by preferentially fermenting and distilling surplus produce.

All products are made with 100% renewable power, no chemicals and produces no waste on site that isn’t reused or recycled.

Greensand Ridge aims to to be a agent of change in our industry by demonstrating that distilleries can operate sustainably, and with consumers by encouraging people to choose their premium spirits with sustainability in mind.

With our London Dry Gin we have created a spirit which takes you on a walk out of
the distillery, through the fields, orchards and woods of The Weald, capturing those
sweet floral and woodland herbaceous characters in a clean and elegant spirit.

Wealden Rum

We lovingly distill our rum from cane molasses, the by-product of UK sugar refining. It is this tradition of using the molasses by-product like this which led us to create our own rum. We ferment the molasses using non-traditional techniques to achieve a more honey floral flavour profile then classic rums. Unsweetened and unflavoured, it’s aged in oak casks to develop the flavours and allow the spirit to mellow, it’s a spirit to treasure

Raspberry Ghost

Our Raspberry Ghost captures the true aroma of Kentish raspberries at the peak of their aromatic ripeness. Named Ghost for the elegance of the spirit and the German origins – Geist – we only use quality surplus fruit, working with local fruit farmers to use berries which can’t be sold to supermarkets.

PX Aged Gin

For our PX Cask Gin we allow an adapted version of our award-winning London Dry Gin to rest in European oak casks, previously used to age Pedro Ximénez sweet sherry. The sweet, spicy and intensely rich character of the PX cask is layered on top of our already complex and aromatic gin to present a fully flavoured spirit, capable of everything from a sipping serve to a big spiced punch.

Rye Cask Aged Gin

We age an adapted version of our London Dry Gin in Rye Whiskey Casks for up to a year to achieve a perfect balance between the complexity of both the gin and the cask’s characters. The resulting hybrid is a unique spirit with complexity, smoothness and depth.

Apple Brandy

We spend long days pressing, fermenting and distilling surplus dessert apples from nearby growers to create a delicate apple spirit which captures the aroma of a country orchard on a late summer’s day. Finished in bourbon casks.
