Fact: The Island Records Session IPA was the world’s first ‘shazamable’ beer can!

Island Records is responsible for the careers of some of the biggest stars in music including Bob Marley, U2, Amy Winehouse, Roxy Music, Pulp, PJ Harvey, Portishead, Florence + the Machine, Ben Howard, Bombay Bicycle Club, Jessie J, Dizzee Rascal, Mumford + Sons and Disclosure.

Boutique Bar Brands were approached to work with Island Records in 2015 and tasked with helping the label scale up their initial trial beer. After finding the ideal commercial brewery partner (Two Tribes) Boutique Bar Brands played an integral part in the early stages of conception, brand development and lunched the product at Craft Beer Rising in February 2016.

BBB successfully seeded the IRSIPA into the market in early 2016. By the Summer of 2016 BBB had secured IRSIPA national availability via three Southern wholesalers, two Northern wholesalers and a wholesaler in Scotland.  Once BBB achieved a listing in the UK’s biggest wholesaler the sales really began to grow exponentially.

Alongside being listed in some of the finest craft beer establishments BBB successfully positioned the beer into chain outlets such as Fullers Pub Group, Turtle Bay, Patty & Bun, The Rum Kitchen, Bird Restaurants, Porky’s and The Restaurant Group.

If you would like more detailed information on how BBB grew Island Records beers into one of the trendiest and most popular craft beers in the UK then please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
